Economic Empowerment

Strategic Objective Statement

Dalit and other marginalized women, youth, and girls achieve economic independence and dignity through equitable access to finance, skills, and inclusive markets, supported by fair economic systems, responsible private sector engagement, and strengthened leadership in business and enterprise development.

 

Key Interventions

  • Facilitate for access to land and advocacy for land ownership
  • Promote financial inclusion through credit, savings, and tailored products for Dalits
  • Support enterprise development, including startups, cooperatives, collective business models
  • Facilitate collaboration among Dalit and other marginalized women, and youth and girls to co-create enterprises
  • Facilitate agro ecology and climate friendly agribusiness and practices for ensure the right to food.
  • Provide market-oriented skills training linked to jobs and entrepreneurship
  • Strengthen Market Development System (MSD) for market linkages, value chains, partnerships reducing discrimination in markets.
  • Promote Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Blended Finance at different Level.
  • Engage businesses, banks to mobilize CSR funds for inclusion programs
  • Promote the Business in Human rights (BHR) initiatives all level.
  • Promote Dalit and other marginalized women, and youth and girl’s leadership in business associations and cooperatives

 

Key Advocacy Issues

  • Address structural economic injustice and market discrimination against Dalits
  • Advocate effective CSR fund utilization for equity and social inclusion
  • Ensure equal access to finance, assets, and business opportunities
  • Promote inclusion in formal, emerging, and green economic sectors
  • Ensure fair market practices and non-discriminatory value chains
  • Integrate economic empowerment with social protection and education support

  • Increased Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls accessing financial services and credit
  • Growth in Dalit-owned and youth-led enterprises and businesses
  • Increased CSR funds mobilized for scholarships, health, enterprise support
  • Enhanced leadership of Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls in business and market platforms
  • Increased employment and self-employment among Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls and youth
  • Improved incomes, economic resilience, reduced vulnerability among Dalit communities
