Strategic Objective Statement

Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls are able to fully claim and exercise their human rights, gender justice, free from violence, discrimination, exploitation, and harmful social practices. They have equitable, safe, and effective access to justice systems, including legal remedy, protection services, and accountability mechanisms, as well as quality and non-discriminatory health services particularly maternal and reproductive health care. This is supported by responsive institutions and transformed social norms that uphold dignity, equality, bodily autonomy, and the right to choose including the right to intercaste marriage without fear of violence or social exclusion. Key Interventions

  • Strengthen prevention, protection, and accountability systems addressing caste- and gender-based violence, including retaliation against inter-caste relationships.
  • Expand survivor-centered justice services: legal aid, legal literacy, paralegal support, psychosocial counseling, and referral systems.
  • Improve inclusive, non-discriminatory public health services focusing on maternal health, reproductive rights, and bodily autonomy for Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls and girls.
  • Implement community-based prevention and rehabilitation programs addressing drug abuse as a health and social justice issue.
  • Promote community-led social and behavior change to challenge caste discrimination, gender-based violence, and opposition to inter-caste marriage.
  • Engage media, youth, religious leaders, and civil society to advance human rights, dignity, gender equality, and justice narratives
  • Engagement in UN Mechanism (UPR, CERD, CEDAW, UNCRC, CSW etc.) for ensure the Rights of Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls

  • Ensure prevention, protection, and redress for gender- and caste-based violence, including retaliation against inter-caste couples.
  • Strengthen inclusive, accountable, survivor-centered justice systems ensuring timely, discrimination-free access to remedies and protection.
  • Eliminate discriminatory norms and informal systems restricting marriage choice, mobility, and bodily autonomy for Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls and girls.
  • Recognize drug abuse as a public health and human rights issue requiring non-punitive, rehabilitative policy responses.
  • Advance gender equality, bodily autonomy, and equal citizenship rights for Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls and girls under national and international law Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls

 

Key Success Indicators

  • Increased reporting, investigation, protection, and fair resolution of caste- and gender-based violence cases with higher survivor satisfaction.
  • Increased access to justice services, including legal aid, counseling, and protection support among Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls and girls.
  • Improved utilization of maternal and reproductive health services with reduced discrimination and improved user experience reporting.
  • Increased uptake of psychosocial, rehabilitation, and reintegration services for survivors of violence and drug-affected individuals.
  • Reduced incidence and acceptance of discriminatory caste- and gender-based practices, including opposition to inter-caste marriage.
  • Positive shifts in social norms and attitudes toward gender equality, caste equity, and human rights measured through surveys Dalit and other marginalized women, youth and girls
