The Feminist Dalit Organisation (FEDO Nepal) and The Inclusivity Project (TIP) will jointly organize a side event titled “Water, Dignity, and Equality: Advancing SDG 6 for Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (CDWD)” – Perspectives from Dalit, Roma, Haratin, Osu, Quilombola, and other CDWD communities at the 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Scheduled for 10 December 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM in Room 4 (Event ID: 235), the event will highlight the structural discrimination faced by Dalit and other marginalized communities in accessing safe water and sanitation.
Bringing together community representatives, policymakers, UN agencies, and civil society organizations, the discussion will highlight the experiences of women, girls, and youth, share community-led solutions, and promote inclusive water governance and equitable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services.
The event will bring perspectives from Dalit, Roma, Haratin, Osu, Quilombola, and other CDWD communities, reinforcing the importance of advancing Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) and ensuring that no one is left behind.
Water is a right, not a privilege.
