Strengthening Dalit women’s rights in Nepal’s new constitution


Durga Nepali is a Dalit woman from ward No-8, Chandani VDC in Kanchanpur District. She has 26 year old she is having 7 member’s family, her family is including 3 daughters 1 son, 1 mother in law, her husband and her self She was married at the earliar age of 16.


Kalpana Nepali is one of the well-known and popular social activists in Chitwan District. She has been working as the President of FEDO Chapter in Chitwan District. Due to her rigorous commitments and efforts, she has become an established member and activist of the Dalit's movement.


Dhaula Devi Parki , the eldest daughter of Narvin Tiruwa and Gauri Devi Tiruwa. Is the resident of Dadheldhura district. In the society, there was a belief that the education is unnecessary for girls. People in society used to force girls for early marriage.


Param Mahara (Mrs.) and Uday Yadav (Mr.) from Mircha VDC (Siraha District) were married on an inter-caste arrangement. Param shortly after getting married with Uday started to have hard times as an unacceptable member in the new family.
