Strengthening Dalit women’s rights in Nepal’s new constitution


Sarswati Pashi is the member of Sagarmatha Dalit women group of Udharapur VDC of Banke. She is 27 years old and mother of 2 children. Before involvements of group, she felt shy to come out from her house.


Kamala Okheda is a Dalit woman from ward No-9, Routelibtwa VDC in Kanchanpur District. She has 26 year old Dalit women having 9 person’s family including husband, 2 daughters 1 son, grandmother, grandfather and 2 Brother in law.


Feminist Dalit Organization has taken a strategic approach while conducting its first round of training for the 20 Dalit women affiliated with various political parties. The member of Nepal Dalit Association (Nepal Dalit Sangh).


Jamuna Koli is one of the exemplary of women’s in Sidhanath women group in Tilkane-10 Municipality. She is 50 year old and she has been activist in community level and she has been able to effectively mobilization of the community.


Chetana Women’s group is one of the exemplary women’s groups of FEDO. The group that was formed in November, 2012 and has been actively participating in government led need identification meeting (for development intervention).


Sitapur VDC 8 km long from Nepalgnuj Municipality. A farming area, in every season green area is “L” Gaun. More than 40 house hold are situated of Dalit community. In this community Sita Bishwakarma lives.


Sarita Sob is the member of the District Executive Committee of FEDO Kailali. Born in 2037 B.S. in Dang District Tulsipur-6, Rajapur in parentship of Rewati Prasad Shahu and Sharada Devi Shahu as second child.
