Kathmandu, Sep 25, The Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) has welcomed the endorsement of Nepal's new Constitution and said that the constitution made by the people's representatives is democratic and respect human rights.


Dalit-rights activities continued their protest throughout the country with the participation of the United Political Dalit Struggle Committee, Dalits Lawmaker's Coordination Forum, Dalits Civil Society Organizations and rights activists. They have already submitted 9 points demand to the CA Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee, and different political parties against the constitution draft.


Sindupalchowk, 13 September, 2015, Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) team has reached to Sindupalchowk to distribute 297 pieces of FM radio, which was provided by UN Women Nepal. The first phase of radio distribution has completed in close collaboration with FEDO Sindhupalchowk district chapter on the date of 13 September 2015.


Kathmandu, Womankind Worldwide along with Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) going to Kavre District for research program. FEDO conduct the research program at Hokse and Panchkhal VDC in kavrepalanchok District.


Kathmandu, Sep, 2015 Women rights activists demanding citizenship in the name of mother started a relay hunger strike from last Wednesday. The hunger strike is a part of Collective Campaign, a network of organizations working in the field of women rights demanding gender-friendly provision in the constitution, to put pressure on the government to change the provision in the draft constitution which denies women the right to pass on citizenship to her children.


Kathmandu, August 24, Dalit women delegation of the Feminist Dalit Organization (FEDO) visited to different parts of India to share the knowledge of experiences.
The delegation reached to several Gujarat villages and met different representatives of concerning parts. Mainly consisting of members of the FEDO, those who gave information on the condition of Dalits, especially women, included Durga Sob President of FEDO, Renu Sijapati Senior executive member, Laxmi Neupane Project Manager and Rajendra Tamrakar Information and Communication Officer from FEDO, and Nirmal Adhikari a journalist.


Kathmandu, August 9, Second day movement of second stage was preceded with the leadership of Dalit women where the demand of Dalits enlist the Guarantee of Proportional representation of Dalit Community in legislative bodies in National, Regional and local level i.e. 3%, 5%, 10% respectively, as well as fulfillment of 9 points demand.
