Earthquake Relief Support 2015


Kathmandu, FEDO center organized an interaction program with the district board members of district affected by the massive earthquake on 2 September 2015, in FEDO conference hall. In the program, board members of 8 districts Dhading, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Nuwakot, Kavre and Sindupalchowk along with the central board members and staffs were a part of the program. The program started with a short introduction of the people in the program. General Secretary Kala Swarnakar gave a short welcome speech. Executive Director Bhim Bahadur B.K shared the objectives of the program.

The main objective of the program was capacity building, FEDO’s identity in the districts, working morality. Active participation in the district to make FEDO visible in all the working areas. 
The program was then was facilitated by President Durga Sob. She shared the problems the various problems of Dalit like poverty, lack of education, discrimination, the living standard, violence, landless, inter-caste marriage, and so on. Dalit’s are facing a lot of problem and among them women were more vulnerable, they are going through Domestic Violence, Sexual Violence, migrant worker, rape, harassment and so on. Therefore, to address and advocate the issues of Dalit women FEDO was established to mainstream the issues for the development. She than expressed her experience of working and asked them to show their sincerity to work for the community. She also mentioned to be visible in their district and work for the betterment of the community establish their identity socially economically and political participation.
