Eventually, Uday and his family members knocked her out of the house and she was separated from her newly married husband.
Shanti Paswan, President of FEDO's Siraha District Chapter, happened to be in touch with Param. Shanti Paswan is a known social activist in the district who is active in assisting the helpless women for accessing their rights and justice to such women. Shanti took over this case seriously and brought the issue to the knowledge of entire community. Shanti also mobilized the case and approached PLC, DRG, Police Officers and some women activists, and lobbied for justice to Param.
As a result, Uday was taken to the police custody for his misconduct and injustice to Param. On the other hand, Uday was also rigorously sensitized on the issue of gender based violence and its consequences. Finally, Uday apologized for his mistakes and accepted to welcome Param back to his house as his wife. They are now re-united and living a normal conjugal life. Param now has her marriage as well as citizenship certificate.
