Right from her young age, she was known for advocating and standing against the custom of "untouchability and gender discrimination" in the society. FEDO's Central President during FEDO's anniversary awarded "a letter of recognition and appreciation" for her remarkable contribution to the cause of Dalit's movement for emancipation.
Kalpana Nepali successfully established and developed FEDO's operations in Chitwan District as per the indicators and standards set by FEDO's Central President and entire FEDO's Board. Kalpana Nepali is continuously working for Dalit women's issues and their empowerment. She has become quite successful to appeal the cases of gender based violence and injustice to Dalit women to concerned agencies and ensure the justice given to the victims.
She has now formed 35 women’s group and 2 pressure groups. With the mission of improving the economic condition of Dalit women, She has established a cooperative institution with the name of FEDO saving and credit co-operative limited. This is the first Co-operative established in Chitwan District. There are 300 Dalit women as share holding members in this Cooperative and this has brought transformation in the economy of Dalit women through loans and investments. This cooperative movement has helped to enhance economic empowerment of Dalit women; hence meaningfully contributing towards elimination of caste and gender based violence in the community with the help of economic empowerment.
She is not only active in the social sector but also in the political sector. She has raised the issue of Dalit women in the district as well as in national level and international level by raising her voice in the high profile conferences and seminars. Representing FEDO, she visited Thailand and Switzerland in order to ensure the lawsuit of Dalit women. She has also attended various trainings at both national as well as international level.
Presently, she is the president of FEDO (Chitwan District), representative of Nepali Congress 12th assembly, member of District women advocacy forum, member secretary of Dalit scholarship, member of tuberculosis prevention, member of Dalit development co-ordination committee and district development office. She is now an inspiration and a role model for every Dalit women in the society. She expresses her gratitude to the FEDO and its family for encouraging and supporting her for the achievements and success she has accomplished.
