Kathmandu/10, December, FEDO jointly celebrated 67th International Human Rights Day: Human Rights 2015, Bhirkutimandap, Kathmandu, Nepal, with the slogan "Our Rights, our Freedoms, Always" in collaboration of different human rights organization, civil society organizations, Beyond Beijing committee, INSEC, Rastriya Dalit Network, Feminist Dalit organization and . Human Right, in this year, will advocate and lobby for the effective implementation different rights mentioned in the new constitution prioritize the gender equality issues and development of Nepal.
The objectives of marking international day are to sensitize and pressurize the government and other stakeholders working on Human Rights issues to ensure the rights of every individual. For the similar cause, Human right activist prof. Kapil shrestha sought to ensure the right of every individual without violating the other human rights. Similarly, Human rights defenders Sushil Pyakurel, Mohana Ansari, spokesperson, (National Human Right Commission), Gopal Lamsal (NGO federation), Shanta Laxmi Shrestha (Beyond Beijing committee) strongly sought to ensure the rights of every individual without discriminating based on the caste, nationality, religion, gender, sex and disability.
FEDO is a national level Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1994 to establish the rights of Dalit women by organizing and empowering them for their mainstreaming into national development. [+ read more]
